I'm planning a gaming setup with a 5070 Ti and I'm considering the 9600X as my CPU. However, I've heard some people mention stuttering issues, particularly in games like Fortnite and Marvel Rivals. Is there a reason why the 9600X would cause stuttering when used with the 5070 Ti? If it's not the best fit, what CPU would you recommend for smooth gameplay at 4K 120Hz with DLSS4? I'm focused on games that are controller-friendly and not into city builders, and my display is a 65" LG C4 OLED.

I really can't see how the 9600X would cause stuttering in games like Fortnite or Marvel Rivals—might be more of a network issue since both are online games. Plus, at 4K, the impact of the CPU is less significant. There's a review that shows the 9600X's 1% lows are just 3% behind the 9800X3D. If you're looking for an upgrade, the 7800X3D is definitely better, but the 9600X is still solid.
If you're gaming a lot, especially at 4K, I would suggest going for at least the 7800X3D or higher. It'll give you much better performance across the board, especially in terms of those pesky 1% lows that can cause stuttering.
So, is that what causes stuttering? The 1% lows really make a difference?
Definitely go with the 7800X3D if you can swing it. I've had no issues since pairing mine with a 9800X3D—it's buttery smooth! The 7800X3D might be your best bet without going overboard.
It's tough to completely fix consistent performance flaws across hardware. At 2160p, the differences in pricing between CPUs, like the 7600X and 7800X3D, are hard to justify since they perform similarly. But 7800X3D has better cache, reducing reliance on RAM and providing smoother frame rates in tough spots.
Honestly, for the 5070 Ti, the 9600X should be sufficient. Random stutters in games like these are pretty common, and a lot of it has to do with Unreal Engine 5's optimization problems. I have a 7800X3D, and I still notice some random stutters in those games as well; it's not always about the CPU.

So you're saying the performance difference between the 7800X3D and the 9600X is only about 3%? What else does the 7800X3D do better for gaming?
