What’s the best way to play CDs in a car without a CD player?

I've recently started collecting CDs, but my car only has a Sony CarPlay unit with no built-in CD player. There's a free USB port at the back of the unit that I believe could be used for audio input. I'm looking for an external CD player that can just plug into that USB port without a bunch of adapters. Does anyone have suggestions for a product that would work, or if not, what alternatives do I have? Any help would be appreciated!

Honestly, the easiest solution is to rip your CDs into high bitrate MP3s and store them on a USB thumb drive. Just load those onto the drive and plug it into your car's USB port. You’ll get great sound without needing extra devices! I also had my installer run the USB port to my console for convenience. If you don’t want to bother with it yourself, you can put the music on your phone and stream via Bluetooth instead!

Definitely a smart way to go! Plus, streaming gives you access to a ton of other music as well.
