Need Advice on a Battery Replacement Nightmare with My iPhone 12 Pro

I bought a used iPhone 12 Pro from Best Buy over a year ago, and I've noticed the battery life has really gone downhill. So, I decided to take it to the Apple Store for a battery replacement. They took my phone and said it would be ready in about an hour and a half.

When I returned to pick it up, the technician told me that they had accidentally cracked my screen during the repair and pointed out that it has a third-party display, which I was completely unaware of. Apparently, Apple runs diagnostics when they take the phone in to check for any aftermarket parts, and I wasn't informed that my display was one of those.

Now, they expect me to pay nearly $400 for both the battery and the screen repair. This doesn't feel fair to me, and I'm wondering what options I have. Has anyone else experienced something like this? What should I do next?

It sounds like you might have ended up with a phone that had been tampered with before you bought it. There's not much you can do now except maybe reach out to Best Buy to see if they can help you with this situation. If not, consider taking it to a third-party repair shop, but keep in mind that results can vary.

True, but Apple should have flagged the aftermarket parts before accepting your phone for repair. It seems a bit unfair that they want to charge you extra after the fact.
