Hey everyone! I'm looking for some Linux distribution recommendations. My main use case is studying, which mostly involves browsing the web, watching YouTube videos, and reading PDFs. I enjoy site-based entertainment and social media too. Just to let you know, I'm not a beginner—I know my way around the terminal and have learned through YouTube, fixing and breaking things on my own.
Here's a bit about my setup: I'm using an HP Pavilion with an Intel i5 12th gen processor, 16GB of RAM, Intel Xe graphics, and 500GB of storage.
I have some preferences for the distro:
- **Aesthetic:** I want it to look beautiful! I tried Gnome on Debian but experienced some lag.
- **Stability:** I need something stable that doesn't break down unexpectedly, especially during exam times.
- **Offline functionality:** I don't want a distro that's too cloud-oriented, as my internet access might be limited.
Some distros I've used before include Ubuntu (which I've forgotten), Debian, Arch (my first love), Vanilla, Fedora, and Linux Mint. Others didn't leave a good impression on me or are not memorable. I did have a couple of issues with Debian recently:
1. There was noticeable lag—even with just Firefox open and a couple of tabs, my desktop froze a bit.
2. I dual-booted with Windows, but ran into a BitLocker issue that locked me out during login, despite having a stable internet connection.
Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

You might want to check out Fedora with KDE or Gnome. Gnome is cleaner and focused, while KDE has more customizable features. I personally prefer Gnome for its simplicity, especially for work and study.
Is Fedora really stable? I heard the rolling versions can sometimes cause issues.
