I've been struggling with sound issues on my Ubuntu system for a week now, trying to set up simultaneous sound output. It's really frustrating! I've done the following: updated and upgraded my system, reinstalled PulseAudio, pulseaudio, and pavucontrol multiple times, retasked jacks, and checked alsamixer settings after every reboot. I've also made changes to the PulseAudio configuration, but nothing seems to work. It looks like I'm facing some dummy output issues, but it's not a hardware problem because I've tested everything using alsamixer and both my headphones and speakers on another desktop. I'm convinced this is a software issue, and I just can't wrap my head around why I can't get sound working properly – out of all the complicated things, it's the sound that's driving me nuts! Might as well say it feels like my system is possessed! Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like you're in a bit of a tough spot! Have you considered switching to PipeWire? Many distros are moving towards it as PulseAudio is becoming outdated. If you still have PipeWire installed alongside PulseAudio, make sure you’re not running them both at the same time. PipeWire could potentially resolve some of those sound issues you're facing! You might want to check if there's a configuration setting that's blocking it from working as intended.
