I'm trying to download Windows fonts to use in LibreOffice Writer on my new laptop running Ubuntu. When I hit Enter after entering the command, it's asking for my sudo password. Since I'm a complete beginner with Linux, I'm not sure what to do next!

Your sudo password is basically your regular user account password on Ubuntu, so it's the same one you use to log in. Just enter that when prompted. Also, keep in mind that if you're installing Microsoft fonts, you might need to accept their EULA during the installation process. Make sure you read any prompts that come up!

Yes, make sure to pay attention to the specifics when you’re downloading the fonts. If the fonts are from Microsoft, you’ll need to accept their End User License Agreement. If you’re not careful during the installation, you might miss that step and be left wondering why it’s not working!

When the system asks for your password after using sudo, you just need to type in your user password. It's normal for nothing to appear on the screen while you type—don’t worry, it's just for security! After you enter your password, it should allow you to proceed with downloading the fonts.
