I'm planning to build a new PC with an RTX 5090 and an Intel i9 14900K processor. I've got a Thermaltake Toughpower TF3 1300W PSU in mind, but I'm unsure if it can handle everything. I've noticed some setups with 1200W power supplies running similar components, but MSI's PSU calculator suggests a minimum of 1227W. I'm confused about how PSU efficiency factors in. Do you think the 1300W PSU will suffice, or should I consider stepping up to a 1350W Gold-rated PSU? Price isn't a concern for me.

1300W is definitely good enough for your setup, no worries there!
With the right components, a 1300W PSU should be just fine!
Just a thought, but why invest in such high-end hardware that could potentially run into issues with a dead socket?
Why did you choose the 14900K for your build? That’s quite the pick!
Yeah, a 1300W PSU should be plenty for your build! Those calculators can be overkill sometimes, and honestly, a good 1300W unit can handle that setup with ease.
Honestly, I think you should reconsider your choices. The PSU and CPU may not be the most reliable options out there. It might be better to go with a more reputable brand for your PSU, like Seasonic or Corsair. Just my two cents!
Thanks for the advice! I’ll look into other PSU brands for sure.

I'm going for top-tier performance, so I thought why not go for the best!
