What’s the Best Way to Dual Boot Windows and Linux on My Gaming Laptop?

I'm using a gaming laptop with 456 GB of disk space and I'm looking to dual boot Windows and Linux. Since I game a lot and care about privacy, I'm thinking of making Linux my main OS, but I still need Windows for work purposes. How should I allocate the disk space between the two operating systems? Should I go for an even split of 228 GB each, or should I prioritize one over the other?

Have you considered running Windows in a virtual machine on your Linux setup? It’s a great way to keep Linux as your daily driver while still having access to Windows for work, especially if your work applications don’t require intensive hardware support.

That sounds interesting! I hadn't thought of that. Would it affect the performance of any gaming apps I might use in Windows?

If your laptop has room for two internal drives, I recommend installing each OS on its own drive. This will save you a lot of trouble down the line. Plus, managing your systems will be much more straightforward!
