I'm building my first PC and I'm trying to install Windows 11 from a USB drive. I entered my license key, but when I get to the installation screen to select where to install, I only see a small 29 GB partition labeled "Disk 0 Partition 1." My actual 2 TB hard drive isn't showing up. Did I connect it incorrectly or is there another reason it's not appearing?

It sounds like you're on the right track with the installation. Just to clarify, are you sure you're using a USB to install Windows rather than trying to download it? If your SSD is truly 2 TB, you should see the main partition and possibly some unallocated space if those partitions are still active. Check the BIOS to see if the SSD is recognized there. If it is and you're okay with wiping it, you can delete the existing partitions and create new ones that utilize the full disk space for the installation.
It sounds like the 29 GB partition might be a backup space from your previous system. When installing, make sure you're running the installation on the drive intended for Windows. If it’s already in use, it can lead to this confusion. Consider using the Windows upgrade tool or make sure you're booting from the USB that has the installation files.
I have the USB ready; I'm just trying to install from it. Should I do anything special before starting the install process?
For basic SSD issues, remember to check your BIOS and ensure it's updated. If your SSD isn't showing, you might need tools like GParted from a live USB to partition and fix it. My suggestion would be to try out some test disk recovery tools, too.

How exactly do I delete the partitions? When I boot up, it just goes straight to the installation prompt. I'm not seeing any other options!
