Hi everyone, I'm in desperate need of assistance with my work laptop, and I've hit a wall with online searches.
Here's the situation: my laptop screen is displaying a glitchy and flickering image, with several horizontal lines and, at times, it completely blacks out. I've been through some troubleshooting myself, but the issue persists. I had to force it into recovery mode after shutting it down by holding the power button.
This glitching didn't happen because of any physical damage—it just started randomly with a few permanent lines and has progressively worsened. I even booted a live Linux system to rule out software problems, but the issues are still there, pointing to a possible hardware malfunction. I checked all the connections and lines inside the laptop, and everything looks fine from the outside.
Has anyone experienced something similar, and do you have any ideas on what might be causing this and potential fixes? I'm really grateful for any insights!

It sounds like you could be dealing with either the GPU or the laptop screen. A good test is to connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV. If the display works fine there, then your laptop screen (or its connections) is likely the issue. But if you see the same glitches on the external monitor, it's probably related to the GPU itself.
Thanks for the help! I connected it to another monitor and it worked perfectly, so it looks like the issue is definitely with the screen. Any tips on whether it could just be a loose connection or if it's more likely that the screen is damaged?
