Can I Power On My Water-Damaged Phone After 12 Hours of Drying?

Hey everyone! I accidentally dropped my phone in water for about a second, and I'm worried the IP rating might be compromised since I've noticed some foggy lenses since getting caught in the rain. I'm in a bit of a bind and need to know if powering it on after just 12 hours of drying is safe, even though I've read that it's typically recommended to wait 24-48 hours. Any advice would be appreciated!

It sounds like your phone is a newer model, and most modern devices can handle a quick dip without a huge issue. A one-second splash shouldn't do too much damage. However, since you're noticing foggy lenses and suspect water might be in there, you might want to wait longer. Drying it out completely helps, but if water's lingered inside, it could cause corrosion over time. Ideally, it’s best to let it dry longer before turning it on.

So, if it’s safe to turn on after that time, what should I look for if something has gone wrong?
