Help! My Laptop Freezes When I Try to Install Linux

I'm trying to install various lightweight Linux distributions on my Acer Aspire ES1-533-P6HK laptop, which has an Intel Pentium N4200 quad-core processor and 4GB of RAM. Unfortunately, every time I attempt to install them, the system freezes at the logo screen. I've already tried Lite Linux, Lubuntu, Xfce, Zorin OS Lite, and Ubuntu, but none have worked. Can anyone advise me on how to get this working?

It sounds like your laptop might be struggling with the boot process. If it’s freezing at the distro logo, it could be worth checking if your USB drive is working properly. Also, make sure to install with an ethernet connection if possible, as this can help with some installations. Don't forget to remove the USB when you're done!

If it's freezing at the Acer logo, that might indicate a problem with the bootable drive itself. It’s worth checking the USB drive, and you might need to manually adjust some settings in the BIOS. Disabling secure boot and adding the bootloader for the USB could also help.

You might want to consider using a lighter distro or one that works better with older hardware. Have you thought about using TinyCore Linux? Also, make sure you're using a 32-bit version since the Pentium N4200 is relatively old.
