Hey everyone! I just wrapped up my internship in the DevOps and cloud field, primarily working with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Terraform, and Terragrunt. I'm eager to expand my knowledge further. Do you think investing in a homelab setup is a good idea? How much should I expect to spend on it?

Definitely! Having a homelab has been a game changer for my career. It's a fantastic way to get hands-on experience.
I built a homelab as a learning space. It's great for experiments without worrying about affecting anything important. It’s helped me understand deployment in different environments a lot better.
I think it's totally worth it based on what you want to achieve. I got a refurbished Thinkcenter mini PC for cheap, and I'm running Kubernetes on it. I even set up Nextcloud and Jellyfin, which has been a great learning experience, especially with remote access through Tailscale.
For sure! You can start with a simple k3s single-node setup, so you don't have to spend a lot upfront.

Can you give more details on that? What if I just have Docker Desktop? Would that work too?
