How to Disable Intel RST for Linux Installation?

I was almost finished installing Linux Mint when I hit a snag: my computer prompted me to turn off Intel RST. It suggested I check a page on a different device for guidance. After some trial and error, I think I switched to AHCI mode instead of fully disabling RST. However, this caused my computer to get stuck on an "inaccessible boot device" error, and reverting back to RST seemed to fix it temporarily. Now, I'm uncertain whether I misunderstood the instructions or if there's something else I should do. Any tips on how to properly configure this to continue my installation?

You should stick to AHCI mode, but unfortunately, you may need to reinstall Linux for it to work properly.

Are you dual-booting? Switching to AHCI is essentially disabling RST. If you have multiple drives, only the drive set to RST will be inaccessible to Linux unless you switch it to AHCI. Typically, you’d get a warning about RST early on in the process, so it seems odd you got further into the installation. Are you on a multi-drive system?

I might be mistaken, but RST usually refers to RAID. You might want to check your BIOS settings to see if RAID is listed separately.

If issues persist, consider trying Kubuntu. It's known for being more straightforward in these scenarios.
