Fixing Popping and Clicking Noises on My Microphone in Linux Mint

I've recently made the switch to Linux Mint 22.2, and I'm experiencing an annoying issue with my microphone. Every few seconds, there's a popping or clicking sound that appears during recordings in OBS, and I can also hear it during tests on Steam and Discord. I didn't have any problems like this when I was using Windows. I've tried some basic troubleshooting steps like restarting my system, plugging my microphone into different USB ports, and adjusting the input sensitivity, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Updating your audio drivers can also resolve these issues. If you haven't checked for updates since switching to Linux Mint, it might be worth a shot!

You might want to try switching to PipeWire if you haven't already. I've read that it can help with audio issues like this. It could improve performance and eliminate the popping sounds altogether.

Make sure that your microphone isn't set to a very high sensitivity, which can sometimes cause these spikes. Lowering the sensitivity might help reduce that popping sound.
