Hey everyone! I'm looking to buy some RAM despite the crazy prices right now because I have a feeling they might just keep climbing. My question is about EXPO (Extended Profiles for Overclocking). Is it necessary to have EXPO with an AMD CPU if I'm not planning on overclocking?
Also, I'm trying to choose between two options for RAM: the Kingston Fury Beast 32GB at 6000MHz CL30 and the Adata XPG Lancer 32GB at the same speed and latency. Personally, I lean towards the Kingston, but my friend criticizes it a lot and I'm not sure why. Any thoughts on which RAM to go with? Thanks!

Both EXPO and XMP are basically profiles that automatically set your RAM to run faster. Just remember to enable it in your BIOS; otherwise, you’ll be stuck at the base 4800MHz. When it comes to brands, focus on what fits your PC specs and budget. You can’t go wrong with either option!
EXPO is designed to help your RAM reach its advertised speed of 6000/CL30. Without enabling it, your RAM will likely run at a lower speed of around 4800MHz. So, enabling EXPO is usually the easiest way to ensure your RAM performs as it should. As for which RAM to pick, both options are pretty solid, so go for the one that fits your budget or preference better!
Thanks for clarifying! Is EXPO really necessary for AMD CPUs or would XMP work just fine?
When comparing RAM, it's a good idea to check all four timing numbers, not just the CAS latency. But honestly, both options will likely perform similarly, so just grab the one that's cheapest with the specs you want!

True, brand does matter a bit for reliability, just stick with something reputable.
