I recently upgraded my GPU to an Intel Arc B580 from a GTX 1070, but now I'm experiencing some bottlenecking issues. My current setup includes a Ryzen 5 2600 CPU, 2x8GB of 3000Hz RAM, a B450m DS3H motherboard, and a 650W PSU. I'm primarily playing games like Overwatch and CS2, which aren't super demanding. I'm considering replacing the motherboard and CPU with an MSI B850M and a Ryzen 5 7600X, mainly because they're available at a decent price. I've heard that enabling ReBar for the B580 could improve performance, but I want to check if this upgrade means I need to buy new RAM, a cooler, or a PSU as well. Is this approach valid, or am I overlooking something important?

You’re on the right track, but keep in mind that the Ryzen 7600X requires DDR5 RAM, so you’ll need to replace your current RAM. If you want to save some money, you could stick with your current motherboard and RAM and just upgrade to a 5000 series Ryzen like the 5800 XT or a more budget-friendly 5500. Pair that with a 60-series graphics card like the RTX 5060 or RX 9060 for better performance.
Yeah, the 5800 XT offers great performance, but the RTX 5060 is a solid choice too, especially if you plan on gaming at 1440p. Just keep in mind RAM limitations as you upgrade!
If you're looking to keep costs down, consider sticking with your current mobo and RAM, then just upgrade the CPU to a Ryzen 5000 series chip. The 5500 is a good budget option. Then when you can, upgrade to a better GPU like the RTX 5060. The B580 is decent but the older 5000 series CPUs are still very capable without needing major changes now.
That sounds like a solid plan! I’m just torn on whether it’s worth the extra cash for DDR5 and a new platform right now. Seems like the incremental upgrades could keep me going for a while.
Exactly! Sometimes it’s better to upgrade gradually instead of going all in at once.

So, if I go with the 5800 XT, would that really beat the B580 overall? I heard it’s about the same price as the 7600 X...
