Hey everyone! I'm getting ready to downsize my PC case after 13 long years with the same one. I'm curious about the best ways to clean all the components as I make the switch, since I'm sure it's pretty dusty inside! What do you recommend? Should I use compressed air, brushes, or alcohol for cleaning thermal paste? Any tips would be much appreciated! Just to clarify, I've cleaned it a few times over the years, so it's not totally neglected. Looking for best practices here!

I found a great little electric blower you can buy online. I take my PC outside every few months to blow out the dust. For the accumulation from 13 years, definitely start with the blower, then use a soft paintbrush or a makeup brush to get into those tricky spots that the blower might miss. For any thermal paste, isopropyl alcohol works wonders! You’ll be set after that!
I know this might sound a bit silly, but I just use my toothbrush to clean my PC! A little minty freshness goes a long way, especially for thermal paste. Combine that with some compressed air to get rid of the bigger dust bunnies. It's super easy to do!
If you're dealing with a lot of dust, consider using a vacuum method first if you have a blower. Just be careful not to suck up components! After that, a new soft brush can help you tackle any stubborn dust in hard-to-reach areas. And for removing thermal paste, isopropyl alcohol is your best friend. Just make sure it’s all dry before you put everything back together!
