My Laptop Can’t Find My Home WiFi or iPhone Hotspot, What Now?

Hey everyone! I'm having a tough time with my Acer Swift laptop running Windows 11. Out of nowhere, it just stopped detecting my home WiFi, even after I restarted the router. Also, it won't pick up my iPhone's hotspot, even though it used to work fine before. The weird thing is, my laptop still shows other people's WiFi networks without any issues. I've attempted to reset the network settings using netsh commands and even uninstalled my network driver, but nothing seems to be working. I just did a factory reset, and I'm still in the same boat: I can see other WiFis, but not mine or my phone's hotspot. I need a solution! Thanks in advance!

Before diving into complicated fixes, can you check if your phone can see the home WiFi? If it can, then your WiFi is definitely working. If your phone can access it, but your laptop can't, it might be a compatibility issue or something wrong with the laptop’s WiFi card.

Yes, my phone can see the home WiFi and so can other devices.

You might want to check what band your home WiFi and hotspot are using. Sometimes, laptops struggle to connect to the 5GHz band if there's an issue with the hardware. It’s possible the 2.4GHz band is what you might need to use instead. If you’re not sure, contact the router owner to get additional details on the WiFi settings.

I’ll reach out to the apartment's WiFi provider to check if they can help with that.
