I've got a coax cable internet connection that provides me with great download speeds of 600-800 Mbps and upload speeds of 423 Mbps, but my latency averages around 65 ms. I noticed the installation tech kinked the cable during setup, which makes me worried about potential issues. I'm paying for gigabit service from Spectrum in the Fort Worth, Texas area, and I'm wondering why my latency is so high for a wired connection. Any insights?

Your latency issues might be due to your DNS settings. Have you tried changing your DNS to something like 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8? I used to work as an engineer at Comcast, and we often dealt with DNS problems affecting latency. Also, keep in mind that even if you have a gigabit plan, the speeds are shared among neighbors, which can impact performance too.
I don't think DNS affects latency in that way since it's resolved before data transmission. But your speeds sound great! Might be worth checking your router stats too.

That's interesting! I've always thought that wire damage would either cause major issues or be perfectly fine. Could something like a kink only slightly affect performance? What do you think?
