Trouble Sending Images in Family Group Chat: What’s Going On?

I'm having an issue where when my parents, who both use Pixel 9, try to send images in our family group chat, it looks fine on their end, but for everyone else, we see a message saying "Removed attachment of banned MimeType." We've tested RCS chats and they work without a hitch, so there doesn't seem to be an issue with the images themselves. Our group chat involves both iPhone and Android users on different networks, mainly AT&T and Verizon, which makes me wonder if this could be a network issue between them especially since nobody's changed devices or updated software recently. How can I confirm if this is indeed a network problem and is there a fix?

Totally feel you! I have the same setup—Android on my end and my partner uses iPhone. We've noticed weird issues too, like images getting blocked. It's definitely frustrating!

I’m in the same boat. Blocked an adorable pic of my cat the other day! Really weird, right?

Same here, it’s hitting me too!

It looks like it could be related to Cricket mainly. My whole family uses Cricket, and we’re facing problems sending images to each other. However, I can send pictures to friends using other networks just fine.

I’m on AT&T, and I'm having the same frustrations!

Same here; T-Mobile and Cricket are both under AT&T tower issues.

I suspect it’s an AT&T issue. Every time I hear about this, someone has AT&T involved whether it's Cricket or another provider that uses their towers. It’s really random in group chats; sometimes images come through, sometimes they don’t!

What do you think changed, though? Why is this a problem now?

Right? I’m on T-Mobile and have been seeing hiccups too.

I’ve encountered this with my iPhone and my friend’s Android. I can’t send images to them; I just get that annoying message. It’s puzzling because they can send me images without any issue! I'm with Cricket, and I'm curious about the service they have.

I’m also on Cricket! This must be some service-wide issue.
