How do I revert my Wifi USB dongle from Mass Storage back to a Wifi adapter?

I think I might have messed up my Wifi USB dongle while trying to use it with usb_modeswitch on my retro handheld console (a R36s). Now, instead of being recognized as a Wifi adapter, it shows up as a Mass Storage Device. Is there a way to switch it back to its original state? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your dongle may have switched to an alternative mode that stores drivers for Windows. I’ve had a similar issue with my 4G dongle where I needed to run modeswitch to get it to switch back to Ethernet mode. Have you tried that with yours? Also, check if it responds to modeswitch commands. Let me know how that goes!

Good idea to check `dmesg` when you plug it in! That will give you logs and might reveal what's happening with the dongle. Sometimes those messages can help narrow down the issue. Keep us posted!
