I'm looking to upgrade my processor since I'm running a 4070 Ti, and I was initially going for the AMD 7 7800X3D. However, I noticed that the AMD 7 9800X3D is only 100€ more. Is it worth spending the extra money for this upgrade?

The 9800X3D offers about a 12% boost in performance at 1080p, but you might not notice much difference in gaming. If you're just using your PC for gaming, the 7800X3D is probably good enough.
You'll likely find that both CPUs will stay relevant for a similar amount of time. If you're okay with the current performance of the 7800X3D, then it makes more sense to save the money unless you really want every bit of performance.
Exactly! Plus, investing that money in an upgrade later might pay off more.
If you're primarily gaming at lower resolutions, the upgrade isn’t necessary. It might be worth considering for 50€ more, but 100€ seems like too much.
In my opinion, 100 euros is pushing it. You may not see a significant difference in gaming performance for that extra cash. Might as well save and stick to the 7800X3D.
If you're concerned about longevity, the extra 100€ could help extend the lifespan of your build a bit. But the performance gap is quite minimal for most games.
True, the 9800X3D shines in specific titles, but if you're not focused on those, the 7800X3D is a solid choice.

That's true! The performance difference can be minimal depending on what games you're playing.
