How Can I Boost My Internet Speed Without Upgrading My Plan?

I'm currently on a 30 Mbps internet plan and I'm looking for ways to improve my internet speed and performance without changing my plan. I understand that I can't magically increase my speed to 100 Mbps, but I'm interested in simple and practical methods to maximize my experience. I'm not looking for complicated networking solutions—just straightforward tips that involve things like router settings, using wired connections, DNS adjustments, or anything else that could genuinely help. Any advice on how to get the best speed and smoother experience from my existing plan would be greatly appreciated!

Using a different DNS can make a difference. ISP-provided DNS servers can be slow, so try setting your DNS to Google's (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare's (1.1.1.1). Also, if you're on Wi-Fi, connect to the 5GHz band instead of 2.4GHz for better speed, as long as you’re close to the router.

Switching to an ethernet cable is one of the simplest ways to boost your speed. It provides a more stable connection than Wi-Fi and can help you get the full benefit of your 30 Mbps plan.

Definitely consider plugging your device directly into the router with an ethernet cable to ensure you're getting the maximum speed. If that’s not possible, make sure your router isn't far away from your devices. And using an ad blocker can help with overall browsing speed, especially if you're dealing with lots of ads.

Yeah, using something like uBlock Origin in Firefox can really help speed up page loads by blocking ads.
