Hey everyone, I came home and turned on my PC, everything was running smoothly until I applied a mild overclock—just 147 MHz on the core and 1000 on the memory. A few seconds later, it abruptly shut off and hasn't turned back on since. I suspected my power supply unit (PSU) might be latched, so I unplugged it and held the power button, but that didn't help. After turning the PSU back on and pressing the power button, I heard a faint electrical crackle, but it's inconsistent and not every time. Any advice on what might be going on? Thanks! Here are my specs: i5 11400f, ASUS B560M A Pro, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, RTX 3080 10GB, Cooler Master 850W Gold PSU.

Hearing a crackle is a bit concerning. I wouldn’t turn the PC back on yet; it might have a short circuit on the motherboard or the PSU could be dead. It's best to try a different PSU before powering it up again.
Could you share more details about your system specs? It’ll help in diagnosing the issue better.
Sure! It has an i5 11400f, ASUS B560M A Pro, 16 GB DDR4 RAM, RTX 3080 10GB, and a Cooler Master 850W Gold PSU.
If you overclocked it in the BIOS, you might want to try clearing the CMOS. It can help reset any settings that might be causing the issue.
I didn’t overclock in the BIOS—just through MSI Afterburner. Is clearing the CMOS still worth a try?

Unfortunately, I don’t have another PSU that works—I just bought this one a few weeks ago, and nothing smells burnt. I’m really lost here!
