Can a Comment with a Suspicious Link Harm Your Device Just by Clicking It?

Hey everyone, I have a bit of an unusual concern. Recently, I clicked on a comment on a post I made, and at the end of the comment, there was a link to an image hosting site called ibb co. I'm guessing the commenter wanted to share an image related to my post. I didn't actually click the link, just the comment itself. Is there any chance that just clicking on the comment could somehow harm my device since the link was there, even though I didn't click it? I have OCD, and I've heard some people mention that the website could potentially have malware, which has me a bit worried.

If you're feeling uneasy, it's always good to run a malware scan on your device just to be safe. But really, you should be okay since you didn't interact with the link.

Exactly! Simply viewing the comment is safe. The real risk comes if you were to click on any links within it. Just make sure to keep an eye out for anything that seems sketchy in the future.

Nope, just clicking on a comment won't harm your device unless you click the link itself. So as long as you're being careful and not clicking anything suspicious, you should be just fine.
