I recently read that Firefox is planning to integrate AI features, which has made me reconsider my use of it. I'm looking for recommendations on the best web browser available right now for Linux, particularly in 2025. I'm about to switch to Linux, likely using Mint or its Desktop Environment, and I have a lot of bookmarks that I need to be able to transfer easily. If you have a favorite browser, could you share your reasons for choosing it? I'm interested in aspects like privacy and performance, so any insights you have would be greatly appreciated!

Have you checked out Zen Browser? It's a lightweight fork of Firefox without the bloat. I've been using it for a few months, and I've found it excellent for daily browsing and works smoothly with all the extensions I need.
It's been my go-to too; the minimalistic design is awesome and makes browsing feel fresh.
If you're looking for a more traditional Firefox experience without AI features, Waterfox is another excellent fork to consider. It's up-to-date, runs smoothly, and respects user privacy. I actually switched to it from Firefox and found it accommodating!
Waterfox has been really reliable for me. It's fast and doesn't come with the extra fluff.

Honestly, if you're wary of the direction Firefox is heading, I would suggest checking out Brave. Its built-in ad-blocking features are solid, and you can customize it to fit your privacy needs. Just remember to toggle off any AI features you’re not comfortable with.
What exact AI features are in Brave? I'd like to turn them off if they interfere with my browsing.

If you're used to Firefox, you might want to try LibreWolf. It's a great fork that maintains many of Firefox's functionalities without the R&D into AI. Just make sure to turn resist fingerprinting on because it can break some websites. I've switched from Firefox to LibreWolf and managed to keep all my bookmarks and open tabs by just copying the profile files over!

I've been really enjoying Vivaldi. It's incredibly customizable, and there's a lot you can do to tailor the experience to your liking. It also handles pages much faster than Firefox for me. Plus, it's a good alternative if you're searching for something full of features without all the AI chatter.
Absolutely agree! Vivaldi is the most well-conceived browser — every time I want to tweak something, it feels like there's an option for it.

I tried Zen but had some issues overriding my Firefox settings. It took ages to revert everything back. Just a warning!
