I'm building my first PC and I'm considering the Intel i5 12600k, but I've run into an issue with the RAM prices skyrocketing, making it hard to afford a DDR5 motherboard. Most of the B760M motherboards are DDR5, and the only DDR4 option I can find is the MSI Pro, which lacks a VRM heatsink. I'm worried that could lead to overheating problems.
If that's a legitimate concern, I'm thinking about switching to the Ryzen 7 5800x instead. I've read that it has slightly less performance than the Intel chip, but I can get a compatible B550M motherboard that does come with a VRM heatsink.
So, I'd love to hear opinions on whether I should go with the i5 12600k and the MSI B760M-P or the Ryzen 7 5800x with a B550M. If you recommend the Ryzen, which B550M motherboard would you suggest out of the Asus TUF, Aorus Elite, or Pro-VDH Wi-Fi?

What graphics card are you planning to pair it with? It could influence your choice as well!
You might want to consider going for the Intel 13th or even 14th generation down the line. That way, you can eventually upgrade to a DDR5 platform later on. Regarding the VRM situation, as long as you're not pushing things to the extreme, it should be fine! Just keep an eye on your room’s temperature; mine rarely goes above 20°C, so I don't have cooling issues.

I’m looking at the RX 9060 XT with 16GB.
