What Specifications Should I Look For in a Laptop?

I'm a third-year tech student in the market for a new laptop. I'm looking for something that can handle coding, streaming movies, and browsing a ton of tabs (like 100+!). Is 16GB of RAM sufficient for my needs? Also, would a 512GB storage be enough, or should I consider getting more?

Just a heads up about those 100+ tabs! It's great to have them open, but maybe clean up your workspace occasionally. You might not need half of those tabs for a month. Still, for your uses, I'd lean towards 16GB and 512GB unless you feel you need more.

An i5 or i7 processor, paired with 16GB RAM, should be a good fit for what you're looking to do. It should handle your coding needs and browsing without a hitch.

For coding and handling multiple tasks, 16GB RAM should be fine, unless you're running a bunch of virtual machines. In that case, more RAM might be necessary. But generally, 16GB will serve most development work well.

I noticed you mentioned MSI Raider—just keep in mind that's more of a gaming laptop. They tend to be heavy and have shorter battery life, so if portability is key for you, consider options that are more geared toward general use.
