I'm looking for recommendations on a desktop environment that's suitable for a system with 4GB of RAM and an SSD. My primary uses will be browsing with 2-5 tabs open and making Discord calls while doing so. I'm currently using Hyprland, but I'm considering switching back to a full desktop environment. I tried XFCE, but it was quite buggy and choppy. Any suggestions? Here are my specs:
- OS: Fedora Linux 43 (Sway) x86_64
- Host: IdeaPad 3 14IML05
- Display: 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz
- CPU: Intel Core i5-10210U
- GPU: Integrated Intel UHD Graphics
- Memory: 1.63 GiB used out of 3.56 GiB
- Swap: 8 KiB used out of 3.56 GiB
- Disk: 11.90 GiB used out of 444.54 GiB

You might want to give MATE a shot! It's a bit heavier than some lightweight options, but it's solid overall. If you're willing to experiment, KDE could also work fine if you're okay with a little extra RAM usage. Just make sure to check out the settings—it's pretty customizable!
