Which GPU Should I Choose for Borderlands 3: 1080 Ti, 2080 Ti, or 3070 Ti?

I'm on the hunt for a used GPU that can handle Borderlands 3 at 2K resolution with over 100 FPS. I've found some decent offers under $400, including a 1080 Ti for just $200. Which one should I go for? Is there a better option out there?

Once you hit that $400 mark, isn’t the 9060 XT a more solid choice? I'd say it's definitely worth looking into if you're after performance.

I’ll keep an eye out for it; just need it to be under $400!

But the original post mentioned options for less than that.

I'm also trying to pick a GPU and I'm a bit confused about the naming. Like, regarding the 2080 Ti and 3070 Ti, does the '30' mean it's newer than the '20', but the '80' implies it's stronger than the '70'? And what about AMD cards?

Yes, the first two digits indicate the generation, while the second two numbers represent the tier (like 2080, 3080, etc.). It can get tricky since some older models might outperform newer ones. For AMD, it's similar; the first number is the generation, and the rest usually describe the card type (for example, 5700 XT, 6700 XT). They recently started naming their new cards like NVIDIA does.

Exactly! The first two digits reflect the generation and the latter two show the tier. Ti and XT cards have extra performance features as well.

In my opinion, the 3070 Ti is the way to go. It's newer and will better handle future games. The 1080 Ti was great in its time, but older cards can run into VRAM issues. Just remember, a newer card will generally give you more longevity.

Fair point! I'll consider that.

If your budget is up to $400, you might want to check out the 9060 XT with 16GB. It's faster, more efficient, and has more VRAM compared to the others you mentioned. It's definitely a better option if you can find one!

Looks like that will be the one for me!
