I've seen how customizable and free Linux is and really want to try it out on my M1 MacBook Pro. However, I'm struggling to find instructions that are easy enough for me, as I'm just a 14-year-old who is new to this. Can anyone help me with some guidance? Thanks!

Asahi is the only option if you want to run Linux directly on the hardware. But honestly, it might not be worth it since some features could be lost. If it were me, I'd consider getting a different laptop, like a Dell XPS, but I know that's not an option for everyone.

I understand, but I can’t get rid of this Mac. It was a gift from my grandma, and I really appreciate it!

Check out the migration page on Linux Nest; it's got a full guide on how to install Linux on M1 Macs. Here's the link: [Linux Nest Guide](https://www.linuxnest.com/how-to-install-linux-on-a-macbook-m1-m2-m3-intel-the-complete-2025-guide/) — it's super helpful! Good luck!
