How Can I Start Selling Merchandise on My Own Website?

I've built my own website and I'm planning to sell merchandise through it. While most online resources focus on using pre-made website builders, I'm looking for guidance on how to implement a transactional system on my custom site. For example, if I find a shirt manufacturer, what are the next steps? Do I need to integrate with a payment processor?

Stripe is a great choice for payment processing; it's really popular and effective. However, do keep in mind that you'll need a more comprehensive e-commerce setup if you want features like user accounts and order tracking. If you're looking for something simpler, PayPal can be a good alternative, offering basic payment options that can be integrated into your site, but it might not be as developer-friendly. Alternatively, you could consider using Shopify, which many people prefer for ease of use, especially if you're feeling overwhelmed by the coding requirements.

Thanks for the info! If I go with Shopify, can I integrate it with my own design, or would I have to use their templates and redirect?
