I'm looking for some personal insights here rather than just assumptions. I want to use Anthropic Claude models like Sonnet and Opus through AWS Bedrock and pay for it with AWS Activate credits. I understand that usage of Anthropic on GCP is charged separately and doesn't use GCP credits, while AWS Bedrock charges for third-party models under 'Bedrock usage.' I got my AWS Activate credits via the NVIDIA Inception program on December 31, 2025. I would love to confirm a few things from anyone who has actual experience with this:
- Do usage charges for Bedrock's Anthropic models deduct from AWS Activate credits?
- Are all Claude models eligible, or just a few?
- Are there any special conditions, like commitments, regions, or credit setup issues I should be aware of? Any real experiences would be greatly appreciated!

I've seen this work without any major issues. When you use Claude on Bedrock, it charges as standard Bedrock inference fees, and yes, that does eat up your AWS Activate credits. This has applied for Sonnet, Haiku, and Opus once they're activated in your account and region. Just watch out for regional availability and any service limits; if Bedrock's supported in your region and linked to your credits, it should just work fine. The only hiccup I've noticed is with older credit settings or if Bedrock's still in preview for your area.
All models available in Bedrock allow the use of credits. However, I’ve heard about current rate limit issues. It’s best to use the US regions and double-check on quotas to avoid running into rate limits.
I gave it a shot but ran into rate limits, which made it pretty much unusable for me. I might have set it up incorrectly, so I switched back to Max. I plan to try Bedrock again since I've got credits, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
From recent observations, the Anthropic models are billed under standard 'Amazon Bedrock usage,' so your Activate credits do indeed apply. Users have reported that this works for Claude Sonnet and Opus as long as you’re in an eligible region and the account is correctly set up with the Activate credits. Just keep an eye on service quotas and regional availability; no special commitments seem to be needed. It’s a good idea to check your billing dashboard after a test run to ensure the credits are being deducted properly.
