Help! My Samsung T7 SSD isn’t detected on my PC after a failed format

I just bought a new Samsung T7 SSD to store some video files, but I've run into a big problem. While transferring videos, I noticed that the transfer speeds were really inconsistent. I decided to format the drive, but after waiting around 10 hours, it got stuck at 60%. I unplugged it, but now my PC won't recognize it at all. The blue light on the SSD turns on, but Windows 11 doesn't detect anything connected. Plus, it gets really hot when it's plugged in. Is there any software or method that could help me format it, given that my computer won't see it?

You could try using Diskpart to clean the drive, but be careful, as this could erase any data. Open an elevated command prompt and type:

diskpart
list disk
select disk # (replace # with the number of your SSD)
clean

After cleaning, go to Control Panel -> Computer Management to format it with NTFS if it shows up there.

I'm not familiar with Diskpart. Could you give me a step-by-step on how to use it?

It sounds like your SSD might be overheated or possibly faulty. You should check if you can exchange it, especially since you bought it on Amazon. They typically have a good returns policy.

Is that through Amazon directly, or do I need to contact Samsung for that?
