Looking for Budget-Friendly AMD CPU Options for Windows 11 Upgrade

I currently have a Ryzen 7 1700 running at 3 GHz, and I'm on Windows 10. Unfortunately, I've found out that my CPU won't be supported for upgrading to Windows 11. I'm dealing with constant upgrade prompts every few weeks, so I really want to upgrade my CPU. I'm building a SIM racing setup where the better parts will go, but this desktop will be for general use. I have a Gigabyte GA-AX370M motherboard and a Radeon RX 580 GPU. Can anyone suggest a good, economical CPU based on your experiences?

In the US, the Ryzen 5600X goes for about $218 on Amazon, and the 5800X is just $219. Honestly, go for the 5800X for just a dollar more; you get more cores and a slight boost in clock speed, which is a steal!

For a solid upgrade, I recommend the Ryzen 5600. It's a great value for the performance you get. Perfect for what you're looking to do!

Thanks! I'll definitely check it out.

If you're considering options, I'd rank them like this: Ryzen 5800X3D > 5700X3D > 5700X > 5600X > 5600 > 5500. I'd steer clear of the 5700 non-X and the 4000 and G models, though. The 5600X is a great mid-range pick!

Thanks for the insights! I'm looking at them and comparing their performance-to-price ratios. Seems like $200 is the sweet spot for a decent upgrade.

Just a heads up, the 5500 is like the weaker cousin of the 5600 series, and while it's decent, the others are definitely better for gaming. Just something to keep in mind!
