Hey everyone, I'm having a really frustrating issue. My PC keeps shutting down when I try to install or use any Linux distribution, like Kubuntu, Endeavour, or Fedora. Here are my specs: an Intel i5-4690 CPU, an NVIDIA GTX 1070 Ti GPU, and an ASRock H81M-VG4 motherboard (I'm one BIOS version behind the latest). I'm using an ADATA SU650 500GB SSD and a Team GX2 500GB as my OS drive, plus a 1TB Toshiba and a 500GB Seagate HDD. My PSU is a Cooler Master MWE V2 Bronze 550W.
The problem is that every time I try to start the installation process, my PC just shuts down before I even reach the GUI. I've even tested these Linux distros on another machine, and they run perfectly fine there, so I'm unsure what's happening with my setup. I also swapped out my PSU because I had a 1stPlayer DK Premium before and thought it might be a power issue, but the problem persists. Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your hardware might be causing some incompatibilities. Have you looked into updating your BIOS? Being one version behind might affect the way your system interacts with newer versions of Linux. Updating could solve a lot of your problems! Also, check your RAM and try reseating it; sometimes issues like that can cause unexpected shutdowns.
You might want to try using a different method to create your bootable USB. I've heard a lot of users have issues with Ventoy. Switching to programs like Rufus or Etcher might make a difference. Sometimes the problem can be related to how the image is written to the USB stick, leading to installation failures or even crashes.
Yeah, I gave Rufus a shot too, and while I got a kernel panic this time, it seems like it's a step up from the complete shutdowns I was experiencing with Ventoy. Definitely worth experimenting with!

Great suggestion! BIOS updates can fix a ton of issues. I've seen people have better luck after updating, especially with newer OS installations.
