I'm considering a career change and I'm curious if earning the AZ-900 and AZ-104 Azure certifications would be sufficient to land a job in cloud support. I want to understand what else I might need to enhance my chances in this field.

It might help, but it really depends on your past experience. The AZ-900 is more of a basic overview of cloud concepts, which is good to know but probably won't land you a job on its own. The AZ-104 is better, but without practical experience, it’s going to be tough to compete right now since many skilled engineers are also looking for work. Understanding tools like Terraform and Bicep, along with Python, would be beneficial too. Good luck out there!

I have some experience in design and user experience, but it's still a tough market for that niche too. I'm eager to pivot to something where my skills are more recognized beyond just my portfolio for entry-level jobs.

Short answer: it helps, but alone, it’s not enough. The AZ-900 and AZ-104 are great starting points that show you're serious about a career change, but cloud support jobs typically require hands-on experience, like labs or small personal projects. Having some troubleshooting skills with Linux or Windows and basic networking knowledge is also critical. Think of those certs as stepping stones and be proactive in gaining practical experience while applying.

That's a good question! For personal projects, you could look into creating small applications or setups that utilize Azure services. Think about hosting a personal website on Azure or using Azure Functions to automate something small. These kinds of projects can really showcase your skills and make your resume stand out when you're applying for jobs!
