How to Fix Audio Issues After Switching from Windows to Linux?

I recently transitioned from Windows to Ubuntu and encountered a major issue where my laptop audio completely stopped working. After a week of trying various online solutions that seemed specific to Ubuntu, I decided to switch to Cachy, hoping this would resolve the audio problem. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked out so far. My laptop is an MSI Thin GF63, model VE. Any advice on steps to take or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried using an external USB audio interface? They're known to produce better sound quality compared to the onboard audio, and it could be a feasible workaround while you troubleshoot your laptop's audio.

You might want to try using `alsamixer`. Sometimes adjusting settings there can help restore sound. Just a heads up, if you're on a Pro Audio profile, the max volume might be set by what you used previously on a non-pro profile, so make sure to crank that up first. Also, did you confirm that your speakers worked fine under Windows before making the switch?

Open `alsamixer` in your terminal and hit F6 to check which sound cards are available. This can give you some insight into whether your system is recognizing your audio hardware correctly.
