I recently built a new PC and I'm trying to connect my old Acer monitor, which is capable of 144Hz. The problem is that when I try to change the refresh rate to 144Hz, I get an "input not supported" error message. The monitor works perfectly fine at 60Hz. It's connected to my GPU, a 9070 XT, and I have the latest drivers installed. I'm using a DP 1.4 to HDMI 2.1 cable. I even attempted to set the refresh rate to 142Hz and 143Hz in AMD Adrenalin, but that didn't work either. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

Is your monitor a 4K model? If it is, give 120Hz a shot; it might be a compatibility issue. If it’s only 1080p, then the issue might be with the HDMI port on the monitor. I believe some HDMI ports only support 60Hz while DVI could handle 144Hz.
You might want to check the monitor's settings. Sometimes there are options that can limit the frequency, like an eco mode or a specific frequency setting that might be turned on. It’s a good idea to dig through the monitor’s menu.
