Should I Upgrade My Current PC or Buy a Used One?

I'm considering options for upgrading my PC. Right now, I have a Ryzen 5 3600, 1660 Super GPU, and 16GB of 4000MHz RAM. I'm thinking about upgrading some parts, but I'm also looking at buying a used PC setup with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, a 3080 Ti, and 32GB of 3600MHz RAM for around 1300 euros. The new parts for my upgrade are hard to come by, and the best I can find is a 7800X3D for 420 euros, which doesn't include a new GPU or RAM. With the costs and component availability in mind, what would you recommend: upgrading my current setup or going for the used PC?

You might want to consider the used PC option. The Ryzen 7 5800X3D and 3080 Ti are powerful, and they'll give you a significant performance boost for gaming and other tasks. Plus, you’re getting 32GB of RAM, which is great for multitasking. Upgrading your current setup could end up being more expensive and might not yield enough improvement compared to the used one.

That makes sense, especially since finding parts is tough right now. But do keep an eye on the condition of the used parts; just make sure they’re in good shape before you buy!

Definitely check the prices of parts if you're leaning towards the upgrade! In some cases, doing a partial upgrade could save you money. But if the cost of good components is too high, the used PC seems like the better deal overall. Just make sure the model and specs are reliable.

Thanks for the advice! I'm leaning towards the used setup, but I’ll double-check those specs before making a decision.
