Is a Single 16GB RAM Stick Really That Bad?

I recently got a new HP Omen PC and I've just realized it only has one 16GB RAM stick. I'm concerned that I've limited my system's performance by doing this. Is it a significant drawback, and can I upgrade the RAM if needed?

Yeah, it's not ideal since a single stick runs at half the speed of a dual channel setup. You're still able to game without too much trouble, but if you're serious about performance, you might want to consider upgrading. Remember, it's better to have 16GB than none at all, especially in today's gaming landscape!

It depends a bit on the type of RAM. If you're using DDR4, then yeah, it's not great. But if it's DDR5, it's less of a concern. Generally, having a single channel memory setup can slow down performance compared to dual channel. However, for gaming, you should be just fine even with this configuration.
