What’s the Scoop on InMotion Hosting Compared to Others?

I've been using InMotion Hosting for quite a while now, and while I think their customer support is really good, I'm not a developer, so I'm curious to know what the experts think. I've heard that Bluehost is also a solid option. On a side note, my experience with GoDaddy was really bad—everything felt like it was charged separately, they didn't have cPanel, and their support was super inconsistent.

What are you mainly hosting? If it's just WordPress, I'd suggest checking out Hostinger as well. They have some decent offerings for that.

I’ve had awful experiences with Bluehost in the past, so I switched to NixiHost two years ago, and it’s been fantastic! They transferred my sites quickly and efficiently, plus they offer a lot of features in their packages and their support is excellent.

I've tried a few different hosts but I ended up sticking with NixiHost. They offer great basic plans without hidden fees at renewal. They also use cPanel which is user-friendly, even if you're not technical. Plus, their support team is super helpful and willing to guide you through any issues.

InMotion can be a bit pricey, especially with their new cPanel licensing changes. However, I’ve had good experiences with their support in the past. If you ever decide to go for a VPS and manage it yourself, you could save a lot of money, but I wouldn’t recommend that for someone who's not a developer.

Bluehost is part of the GoDaddy family, and while they aren't great, they aren’t as bad as GoDaddy itself! Personally, I recommend InMotion to my clients. Their servers are usually stable and quick, but the support did seem to decline a bit during Covid. However, my recent experiences with their support have been decent.

I do most of my projects on Digital Ocean or Vercel these days, but from my past experiences, InMotion is okay yet on the pricier side. Bluehost and HostGator have similar features since they're owned by the same parent company. If you’re looking for a basic hosting service for WordPress, neither of them are terrible. When it comes to domain names, I prefer Namecheap or Porkbun since they offer free WHOIS protection, while Bluehost and InMotion charge extra for it.

I actually had a not-so-great experience moving some of my personal sites to InMotion. I wouldn't recommend them based on that.
