Why is my PC not booting with RAM in specific slots?

I recently upgraded to an i7 14700k CPU and got a new Asus Prime Z690-P D4 motherboard along with two 16GB Kingston Fury Beast DDR4 RAM sticks. The problem is that my PC won't boot if I place the RAM in slots 3 or 4, but it works fine with the sticks in slots 1 and 2. When I try to boot with both sticks in slots 1 and 2, it initially boots but crashes shortly after. I'm concerned that the issue might be related to the CPU pins, and since I don't have a warranty, I'm hoping to get some insights into what might be wrong. Any advice?

Honestly, I think the issue is related to the CPU pins. They have a tendency to be the culprit in cases like this.

Have you thought about updating your motherboard's BIOS? Also, consider reapplying thermal paste on the CPU, changing the CMOS battery, and cleaning both the RAM sticks and slots with a soft toothbrush and some electronic contact cleaner.

You might be dealing with bad RAM slots, a problematic CPU socket, or even the RAM itself. Fortunately, the CPU is likely fine. Unfortunately, troubleshooting can be tricky if you don't have extra components to swap in and out. Did you try testing with some other RAM?

Have you checked your motherboard manual? It often specifies which RAM slots to use for optimal configuration, and it sounds like you might be overlooking that.

It sounds like you might have a faulty motherboard or CPU. The crashes when using slots 1 and 2 could mean that while one stick is functioning, the other isn't. You might want to inspect the CPU pins to see if there are any issues, or consider that the motherboard could be the problem, especially if the famous microcode issue affected it.
