Can You See Potential Savings Before Committing to a Savings Plan?

I'm looking into savings plans and wondering if there's a way to see the percentage of savings before I lock into an hourly rate and make a purchase. Specifically, I'm checking out a B1 app service that costs $54.25 a month. It prompts me to buy, but it doesn't show the discount percentage for different commitment lengths like 1 year or 3 years. Is this information available anywhere during the purchase? I couldn't find it.

You can use the Azure Pricing Calculator to estimate costs, but keep in mind it might not provide savings plan percentages directly for your situation.

Yeah, the calculator gives you costs for various instances, but it lacks details on potential savings from long-term commitments.

It seems like savings plans may not apply to the B1 tier. However, if the service SKU is eligible, there should be some indication of savings based on your hourly commitment when purchasing, so double-check that.

If the SKU is compatible with savings plans, you might see possible savings based on your commitment. But consider using Reserved Instances (RIs) for more significant savings; they often outperform savings plans in terms of discounts for many services.

That's interesting! But can you even set an RI for a B2 app service? I really want to know the % savings for a plan before I commit.
