I've been working from home for about four months now, and sitting for 6-8 hours a day has been giving me back pain and discomfort. I'm interested in getting a standing desk but I'm unsure about which type would be the best fit. Should I go for a manual or an electric desk? How important is stability? For those of you who use a standing desk regularly, what should I consider when buying one, and which model do you recommend? Thanks for any insights!

I have the standing version of the IKEA Idasen, and it's been great for me for over five years. Super reliable and stable!
Honestly, I wouldn't overspend on it. I've got a couple of IKEA electric standing desks, but I mainly use them to adjust the height for eating—it turns out standing a lot made my back pain worse! Now I’m going to physio for it instead.
I can't say they’re the best, but people in my office have Uplift desks and they seem to be very sturdy. They've held up well for several years, so they're definitely worth considering.
If you're looking for something affordable, check out the second-hand Uplift desks on Facebook Marketplace. They can be a great buy if you find one in good shape!
