I've got an offer for a used 5700X for less than $130, and I'm currently using a 3700X. Do you think this upgrade is worth it at that price, or should I hold off until DDR5 prices drop and just build a new rig later?

If your current setup with the 3700X is bottlenecking, especially with a new GPU, then it could be a good move. I moved from a 3700X to a 3900X for better multitasking, and it was a solid upgrade for me. If you're just playing occasional new games, it might be a worthwhile investment!
Honestly, the waiting game can be frustrating. Some sources are saying we might not see DDR5 prices drop until as late as 2028. That might not be worth the wait if you need performance now!
I think it's worth it. Plus, if you search around a bit, you might find a brand new 5700X for just a little more.
Just so you know, we're probably years away from DDR5 being affordable. Might be better to focus on the immediate upgrade instead of waiting for DDR5 prices to drop.
Absolutely, that's a decent price for the upgrade! You'll likely see a noticeable performance boost from that jump.
I switched from a 3600 to a 5700X, and let me tell you, the performance increase was noticeable! I say go for it if you can.

I totally relate! I'm using a 3080, and yeah, it's bottlenecking in some new games like Monster Hunter and Baldur's Gate 3. Sometimes you just have to upgrade, especially if you plan to indulge in newer titles!
