So, I work from home and usually use my personal laptop during lunch to tackle some grad school work. Today, while chatting with a friend about a rib cage tattoo I want, I accidentally typed in a search about tattoo sizing on my work laptop, thinking it was my personal one. I clicked on a Google link that led to a tattoo artist's business page, but it got flagged, saying I couldn't access the site. I panicked, closed the tab, and deleted my history just in case. Should I report this to IT, or is it not a big deal? Just for context, I work for a global company.

Honestly, I wouldn’t worry about it at all! IT is usually way too busy to care about stuff like this. It’s not like you were looking up anything inappropriate. They'll probably not even notice unless they dig into the logs.
Seriously, nobody cares! This 'You do not have access' message is probably automated. I get those all the time, too, when I'm just trying to access work-related sites by mistake. Don’t sweat it!
As long as you’re not on a strict compliance watch, this won’t be an issue. IT is only concerned with malicious or illegal activity. You might be overthinking it a bit; they just have way more important things to handle.
Look, if someone from IT is looking at it, they probably had a good chuckle about it. It’s not a big deal at all! Just explain the situation if anyone ever asks, and you’ll be good.
Haha, that made me laugh! Thanks for putting my mind at ease!
You're totally fine! I work in IT and can tell you that we have too many issues to deal with than to worry about someone accidentally searching for tattoos. It’s just a little bump in the report for blocked sites—no biggie.
Haha, thanks for the reassurance! I was definitely overthinking it.
