Is My First PC Build Setup Good?

I'm putting together my first PC build and want to double-check that everything looks good before I make any purchases. I've heard I might need to update the BIOS to ensure my CPU is compatible and that I won't be utilizing my USB ports to their fullest potential. Aside from that, I'm not really sure. My primary use for this PC will be 3D work. Here's the list of components I'm planning to buy:

- Corsair FRAME 4000D RS (case)
- AMD Ryzen 7 5700X (Tray) CPU - 8 core - 3.4 GHz - AMD AM4
- Cooler Master Hyper 212 - Black Edition (CPU cooler)
- SANDISK WD Black SN7100 SSD - 500GB - PCIe 4.0 - M.2 2280
- ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS motherboard - AMD B550 - AMD AM4 socket - DDR4 RAM - ATX
- Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3200 - 32GB - CL16 - Dual Channel (2 pcs)
- be quiet! PURE POWER 12 750W PSU - 750 Watt - ATX 3.1 - 80 Plus Gold certified
- MSI GeForce RTX 5070 GAMING TRIO OC - 12GB GDDR7 RAM (graphics card)

Thanks for your help!

First off, do you have video output to access the BIOS? If so, make sure your BIOS version is at least 2604. If it's brand new, you likely won't need to update it at all since it should come pre-loaded with support for current CPUs. But if you buy used, a BIOS update might be necessary. Also, consider upgrading to a better CPU cooler if you plan to push the Ryzen 7—something with better overhead is a good idea. Lastly, you might want to look into expanding your storage. 500GB fills up fast, especially for 3D work; I'd recommend aiming for at least 1TB if your budget allows.

I've read that the Prime B550-PLUS has a BIOS FlashBack feature; you can update the BIOS using a USB stick even if you're not getting a screen output, so don't worry too much about that! Just follow the manual's instructions, and you should be golden.

Definitely keep an eye on that cooling solution! Ryzen 7 can get pretty hot under load; a beefier cooler can help with performance and longevity.

Overall, it sounds like a solid build! Just check how much everything costs together—that's really the key. But from what you’ve listed, it looks good for your 3D work.

Yeah, it seems like you've got a great setup! Just ensure your budget can stretch a bit, especially for that extra storage you might need.

If you need to update the BIOS, AMD has a ‘Short-Term Processor Loan Boot-Kit’ process in case you run into issues. Just make sure it's available in your area if you feel stuck. Good luck with the build!
