Why Are My CPU Temperatures So High After Installing an RTX 5070?

I just installed a new ASUS RTX 5070 ATS OC, and since then, my CPU temperatures have shot up significantly. I've done the usual updates with the NVIDIA App and driver but haven't overclocked anything. During light to medium gaming, my CPU sits between 70°C and 80°C, and in heavier games, it spikes up to around 90°C, although those higher temps don't last long. This issue began right after I put in the new GPU. My setup includes a Gigabyte B550M Aorus Elite motherboard, AMD Ryzen 5 5600GT, 32GB of ADATA XPG memory, a 1TB Kingston SSD, and a setup with plenty of fans. I've disabled the iGPU in the BIOS. Before the GPU swap, my CPU temps were much lower, so I'm wondering if this could be due to the new GPU's demands, airflow issues, or something else. Any advice or similar experiences would help!

Just so you know, Nvidia GPUs can push a lot of heat into the case. If your GPU's fan is blowing hot air right near your CPU cooler's intake, that could definitely be raising your CPU temps. Pay attention to how your fans are positioned and adjust them for better airflow.

It could be that when you installed the new GPU, it inadvertently applied some pressure to the CPU cooler, which might have disturbed the contact point. Just to be safe, check your CPU cooler and consider reapplying thermal paste if you're concerned about the temperatures.

Make sure to check your case's airflow setup. If your fans aren’t balanced between exhausting and taking in air, it could create hotspots inside your case. The new GPU can add a lot of heat that might not be moving out if your airflow isn't optimized.
